Over the past few years I’ve had some amazing opportunities to help other women promote their businesses. Creating content that shows off what they do well. What they are passionate about. What they devote so much time and energy into. I love being able to help create images that they are proud of, that they can’t wait to share and use. Carrie and her husband Nate own Roost North a vacation rental business. They host guests at two awesome condos in the Commons and are hoping to be able to showcase all of the amazing things that you can do (within walking distance) of their rentals! They want to host, but they also truly want to help you craft an incredible and memorable trip to TC. Carrie’s instagram feed not only shows off her gorgeous spaces, but her stories are constantly showing off local businesses. Promoting them to her visitors and sharing deals, reposting their content and specials, sharing things to do in the area - I would even recommend that TC locals follow along to get an inside scoop ;) So this lifestyle shoot (on a perfect Fall day) was a great way to share how amazing the Commons are as a Traverse City vacation destination. We grabbed coffee at Higher Grounds, walked over to Roost North’s Spiral Sanctuary property where we enjoyed bubbly and cheese, then headed to Left Foot Charley’s for wine tasting (and conveniently grabbed chips and salsa from Spanglish next door to snack on). After that we walked over to Archie’s food truck where we placed an order that we could enjoy inside Earthen Ales. Whew! What a whirlwind tour. Here’s a peek of what we captured…
I’m loving the number of family sessions that I’ve been doing this Summer! I’m here for it. It doesn’t have to take up a ton of time - it can be a quick, uncomplicated shoot at a vacation rental. Memories I made with my own family as a kid during our time “up north” are full of nostalgia and have honestly influenced my life enormously (including moving up here full time). So I’m beyond happy that I can capture and preserve these memories for other families. Like the seasons, time is fleeting - it’s so cliche but true. Document these times together because they go by so fast. Thanks for inviting me you guys!
I seriously look forward to seeing these guys every year and watching Margot grow! I had the pleasure of documenting Leslie & Bob’s wedding and we did a family session together last Summer when Margot was teeny tiny! Now she’s exploring, standing, rock collecting, and then of course trying to eat the sand - which is a VERY common occurrence during family portrait sessions with little ones ;) I’m so happy that I get the opportunity to stay connected with my clients. I’ve written this before, but it’s one of my very favorite parts of this work. Cheers to the Love family!
Talk about a beautiful family! These four are super fun to photograph and just as fun to be around. I had such a great time up in Northport last week capturing a little slice of their vacation. Check out the images below for major #hairgoals. Thanks for inviting me you guys!!
It can be hard to get grown up siblings together often. I know that from personal experience with our own family. So when you do have that rare family vacation where everyone is together: the grandparents, parents + kids, it’s a prime time to get some photos taken. I love doing this for families and this group was absolutely wonderful. It was a super playful session with superhero poses, marshmallow mouths, and silly faces and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks for having me you guys!
I have way too much fun photographing this family. You may have seen them before… and they are all awesome. This year was no exception. You can’t go wrong on the grounds of Camp Michigania. The goofing, laughing, and playing was top notch and the soft serve game was strong. I feel lucky to have such amazing friend-clients. Cheers to another Summer session focused on what’s important: family. I love you guys!
