KARA & ROB // SLEEPING BEAR DUNES ELOPEMENT // PIERCE STOCKING DRIVE

With only family and close friends gathered around them - standing or sitting in beach chairs - Kara & Rob said their vows 450 feet above Lake Michigan.  The jaw-dropping scenery has drawn them to Michigan for repeat visits and clearly held a special place in their hearts.  Kara wore her mom's wedding dress and she added her original hat and flowers in order to "re-create" a portrait of her mom.  We walked along the dunes for some epic images and headed back into Traverse City to finish the afternoon with a meal at Sleder's (and to "Kiss the Moose" of course!).  Cheers to Kara & Rob!  It was such an honor to capture these moments for you.

Ceremony Location: Pierce Stocking Drive, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore // Bouquet: Lilies of the Alley // Reception: Sleder's Family Tavern // Huge thank you to Josh Hartman for second shooting with me!

NORA & KALIN // WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY PREVIEW // BRENGMAN BROTHERS WINERY

A mix of woodland and vintage vibes with good design at a Northern Michigan winery makes for a pretty special wedding.  Then you add a bride who suggests catching and picking up a toad while taking photos in the woods.  There really aren't words for this... it's just awesome.  Cheers to Nora & Kalin.  It doesn't get much better.

CEDAR CREEK INTERIORS // TRAVERSE CITY, MI.

Last week I was able to scope out Cedar Creek Interiors in Traverse City and photograph their showroom and design studio.  Cedar Creek is currently partnering with Lala Projects to redesign their website, so hopefully there will be more amazing spaces to photograph soon!

FAMILY PORTRAITS /// NORTHERN MICHIGAN

I had a ridiculous amount of fun working on this "vintage", or I guess "pseudo-western", family photo shoot in Grayling, Michigan.  I have known these crazy kids since they were born... they are the niece and nephew of two of my very best friends ever.  A lot of these photos remind me of what it was like to spend every summer of my childhood on Lake Margrethe with my family and best friends.  Kind of makes me nostalgic for that time when we used to run around pretending to be from a different time or place... or fighting "bad guys" and being heros.

I am also sending a lot of love to American Samoa where Jessie will be teaching for the next year.  Enjoy. xoxo.
